“Love you, little one”- Wall design on parents room walls at Ipswich Children’s Library

In June 2021 I was commissioned to create a design for the parents room walls at the brand new Children’s Library in Ipswich (where I currently also work as a Children’s Library Officer). This is the biggest room project I’ve done so far, my third mural for Ipswich Libraries. It was a challenge to make this space feel cosy and inviting, as it was so large and oddly shaped, with very high ceilings. This design features my signature Australian animals, with their adorable ‘little ones’, a theme that I chose specifically because this space is for ‘little ones’. The designs were made using a combination of traditional and digital media, then printed by Ipswich City Council Sign writer Damien Schulze, as large scale wall decals. Damien and I then applied the decals by hand to create our third stunning mural.

“Koala hide & seek” - Wall design on parents room walls at Rosewood Library

In early 2020, I was commissioned to create a design for the parents room walls at Rosewood Library (a branch of my local Ipswich Libraries where I am currently employed as a Children’s Library officer) to bring new life to the space. This design is entitled “Koala hide & seek” and features my signature Australian native animal characters in a charming ‘Australiana-style’ bush landscape. There are 10 Koalas to find hiding in the foliage, as well as a sneaky little echidna friend! The designs were all sketched, carefully hand painted, then scanned and edited in Photoshop. The digital copies were then printed as large scale wall decals by the Ipswich City Council Sign writers and applied to the walls.

“The Dreamers” - Wall design on parents room walls at Springfield Central Library

In early 2019, I was commissioned to create a design for the parents room walls at my local public Library (where I also worked as a Library Officer at the time) to ‘freshen up’ an otherwise dreary looking space. This design is entitled “The Dreamers” and features my signature Australian native animal characters in a charming ‘skyscape’ of dreamy pastel colours. The designs were all sketched, carefully hand painted, then scanned and edited in Photoshop. The digital copies were then printed as large scale wall decals by the Ipswich City Council Sign writers and applied to the sky-blue painted walls.

Postcards for Ipswich Libraries

In conjunction with the parents room wall design from 2019, I also created the design for these promotional postcards used by the Ipswich Libraries. The postcards advertise the Ipswich Libraries current family programs such as Story time and Playgroup. This design is entitled “Bedtime Bilbies.”
